Tour itinerary
Embark on an unforgettable 9-day horseback journey through the heart of Mongolia — where endless steppes, golden dunes, and timeless monasteries come together to create an experience unlike any other.Your adventure begins in the Bayan Gobi desert, where rolling sand dunes meet open steppe. Here, you’ll ride camels across the shifting sands before continuing on horseback through breathtaking valleys and rivers. The path leads you into the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where history, nature, and nomadic traditions intertwine. As the days unfold, you’ll reach the pristine Naiman Nuur Lakes, a hidden paradise embraced by forests and mountains.
Each day brings a new rhythm: riding sturdy Mongolian horses through untamed landscapes and observing the rare Przewalski’s horses in their natural habitat. At night, you’ll rest beneath vast, star-filled skies—either in traditional yurts hosted by local families or in carefully selected yurt camps designed for comfort and warmth.
This journey is not just about riding; it’s about immersion and connection. You’ll witness the harmony between people, animals, and nature, discover the resilience of nomadic life, and be embraced by the famous warmth of Mongolian hospitality. Day 1: Ulaanbaatar – Bayan Gobi Desert
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
Your English-speaking guide will pick you up at Chinggis Khan Airport.
Transfer directly to the Bayan Gobi Desert.
Lunch en route.
Travel to Khogno Khan Park. Visit the “Mini Gobi” dunes, enjoy a camel ride, and explore Ovgon Khiid Monastery.
Dinner and overnight stay in a yurt with a nomadic family.
Day 2: Bayan Gobi Desert – Kharkhorin
After breakfast, drive to Kharkhorin.
Visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery.
Enjoy lunch in Kharkhorin.
In the afternoon, continue to the Orkhon Valley.
Arrive at the home of a nomadic family, where your guide and hosts will introduce you to Mongolian traditions and daily life.
Dinner and overnight stay with the nomadic family.
Day 3: Orkhon Valley - Buurug Camp
Breakfast
Ride on horseback through the beautiful natural landscape towards Buurug Camp.
Enjoy lunch on the way.
Dinner and overnight stay at Buurug Camp.
(Don’t worry if you’re a beginner or an experienced rider — we can adjust the riding schedule to suit all levels. Just relax and enjoy the journey your way.)
Days 4 and 5: Buurug - Naiman Nuur Lakes
After breakfast, ride from Buurug Camp to Naiman Nuur Lakes.
Lunch on the way.
Arrive at a nomadic family’s home.
Spend the next day exploring the stunning landscapes around Naiman Nuur Lakes on horseback.
Dinner and overnight stay with the nomadic family.
The comfort is minimal compared to the yurt camps, but you'll experience the true nature of the nomadic daily life.
Day 6: Naiman Nuur Lakes - Orkhon Waterfall
Breakfast
Ride to the Orkhon waterfall from Naiman Nuur Lakes
Lunch on the way
Visit the waterfall and enjoy the scenery.
Head to a nomadic family (ideally by a car or on horseback, depending on your preference).
Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a yurt with the family.
This is the last day on horseback.
Day 7: Nomadic Family - Khustai National Park
We will depart from our nomadic family after having breakfast and drive to Hustai National Park.
Lunch en route.
Explore the park by 4×4 vehicle to find and observe the wild Przewalski’s horses (Takhi).
Dinner and overnight stay at a yurt camp.
Day 8: Khustai National Park - Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, return to Ulaanbaatar.
Enjoy lunch upon arrival.
You'll be offered to go shopping with a guide for the rest of the afternoon.
In the evening, attend Mongolian traditional show, which covers traditional dances, music, and songs.
Dinner is not included, allowing you to choose from Ulaanbaatar’s many cuisines.
Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel (twin or triple room).
Day 9: Ulaanbaatar
Transfer to the airport after breakfast.
